Hi Nell, It depends on the type of fabric and how you hang them. Some fabrics are more prone to wrinkling than others, such as linen, cotton, or silk. If you want to avoid ironing, you should look for shirts made from wrinkle-free or wrinkle-resistant fabrics, such as synthetic materials, jersey, or cotton-poly blends. Hope this helps

The tucking technique in particular looks very helpful. But I have to ask…do you need to iron these shirts or if you hang them as soon as the dryer is done (assuming you use one), do they look OK? That’s another reason I have always shied away from this style: I do not iron. Never ever. Thanks!

What a shock!! I will admit I am 78 , 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. ( we all started very young) I have been a Preppy since the 50’s. Button downs were the main staple to wear at Boarding School. We tied those shirts in even more styles ( that’s where your personality came out) Even wore loafers,Papagolos in every color.Brooks Brothers was that eras J Crew. Favorite look even now. I guess Preppies never go out of style.
