These three cute Halloween cake and cupcake ideas pack a big punch, with little effort! Using store-bought cakes, cupcakes and candy hacks to cut out steps, each of these can be done just in time for a last minute Halloween party or gathering!
Easy Frankenstein Cupcakes
Use store-bought cupcakes to create these Frankenstein cupcakes along with my secret weapon, Kinder Bueno bars, to create Frankenstien’s bolts that will always stay in place!
Dye vanilla frosting green. Place a Kinder Bueno bar on top of a chocolate cupcake. Frost the cupcake with the green frosting, covering the center two pieces of the bar with frosting. The end pieces of the bar become Frankenstein’s “bolts.” Use black decorating icing to pipe a mouth and hair. Use white and black decorating icing or candy eyeballs to create eyes.
Simple Chocolate Bat Cake
Turn a store-bought vanilla cake into a cute Halloween dessert by adding chocolate bats!
Melt chocolate wafers at 15 second increments, stirring in between, until smooth. Let cool slightly and pour into a piping bag. Pipe bat wing shapes on to a piece of wax paper.
Tip: Draw or print out a bat wing illustration and place it underneath the wax paper to use as a pattern when piping. Set in fridge to harden.
Cut Kinder Bueno bars into individual pieces. Remove the bat wings from the fridge. Place a Kinder Bueno piece onto the frosted cake where desired and a bat wing on each side. Repeat until you have as many bats as you’d like.
To add height to your cake, poke a bamboo skewer through the bottom of a Kinder Bueno piece. Place a bit of melted chocolate on the back and attach two bat wings. Let set. Add on top of your cake!
Easy Halloween Graveyard Cake
Turn Crunch bars into gravestones and make a chocolate cake into a super easy Halloween graveyard cake!
Add chocolate ganache to the top of a frosted chocolate cake, if desired.
Pipe “RIP” or other phrases onto fun size Crunch bars to create gravestones. Crush up additional Crunch bars to use as “dirt” alongside Buncha Crunch pieces. Place gravestones as desired on top of the cake. Add the crushed up bars and Buncha Crunch around each one. Add candy pumpkins or other edible adornments as desired.
Complete the cake by cutting a spooky tree shape out of black paper. Tape to a bamboo skewer and insert atop the cake, behind the gravestones.
